Full Moon in Cancer on December 28th: Balancing between Family and Career

On December 28th at 12:23 pm there is a Full Moon on the 7th degree of Cancer, a sign that is ruled by the Moon, hence a sign where the Moon can most comfortably express its need for love, affection, caring and warmth. In line with my past writings, at every Full Moon the Moon opposes the Sun, which entails a certain tendency towards emotional tensions and outbursts. These are directly related to the aspects received by the Sun-Moon axis and to the zodiac signs where the Sun and the Moon are located. At the current Full Moon the Sun-Moon axis activates the Uranus-Pluto square about which I’ve written in the past. In sum, one can say that on a planetary level this square heralds governmental subversions and revolutions that aim at purifying the system, while on a personal level it heralds radical changes in the ways that we have been used to leading our lives up until now. Although often these changes are sudden, irreversible and painful, they serve as accelerators for releasing us from whatever is rotten and putrid so that we can achieve catharsis in our lives and liberate ourselves from situations and circumstances that have outlived their purpose.

This Full Moon will definitely remind us of these lessons as well as of our need to achieve balance between our family life and career. On the one hand, the Sun in Capricorn in tight conjunction with Pluto will shed light onto the importance of the changes we are asked to perform in our careers; these changes, however, will bring about tension at home and in our personal life. With the Sun and the Moon in T-Square with Uranus, these changes may come from where we least expect them and leave us with a sense of void or with the mood to protest. This will be particularly relevant for the long-suffering signs of the Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), especially for those born during the first decanate. Nevertheless, the stabilizing aspects that the Sun-Moon axis receives from Saturn in Scorpio will probably help us make the most of the upcoming changes and thus create a stable basis where we can build our renewed professional and personal lives. Saturn will come fairly handy to the earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) and the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces), which are after all favoured the most by the current Full Moon. Pisces and Virgo, especially those of the first decanate, are particularly favoured as long as they don’t engage in excessive optimism and pointless use of their energies (square from Jupiter).

Finally, this Full Moon in Cancer takes places with Jupiter on top of an astrological configuration named ‘Yod’ or ‘The Finger of Fate’. There was a similar configuration during the last lunar eclipse and the previous New Moon with Jupiter once more on top receiving quincunx aspects from Pluto and Saturn, both in sextile aspect to each other and in mutual reception (each transiting the sign the other one rules). Therefore, it looks like issues that were brought forward around the 28 November lunar eclipse and the 12 December New Moon will be again in focus. More specifically, our need to gain more knowledge and to improve our communicational and PR capacity (Jupiter in Gemini) may be the cause of stress and irritation (quincunxes) in our attempt to take advantage of the opportunity (sextile) to methodically transform the kind of devotion we used to show in our job (Pluto in Capricorn in mutual reception with Saturn in Scorpio). So, it may well be that our need to learn new things and to open our social circle will urge us to change jobs or to modify the way we used to do our job up until now. Those with planets around the 8th, 9th and 10th degree of any zodiac sign are particularly expected to experience this need to learn and to change course professionally speaking. Until my next post, I send plenty of love and light to you all!
